Nancy Kaeser
Instructional Designer
Learning & Development Specialist
eLearning Developer
My Professional Life
I trained in Instructional Design at the Applied Instructional Design Academy (AIDA), where I earned my certification. AIDA is a comprehensive nine month program. Under the guidance of Instructional Design mentors, I studied instructional design fundamentals, instructional design process, and eLearning best practices. I worked extensively in Articulate 360, creating eLearning courses in Rise and Storyline. As I am committed to continuous learning, I furthered my training by going beyond program requirements to create microlearning courses in Vyond and Camtasia, and to develop Virtual Instructor-Led Training and Instructor-Led Training courses.

Instructional design taps into three of my passions: engaging learning experiences, creative visual design, and effective written communication. Whether I'm building a job aid, a facilitator guide, an eLearning course, or an ILT, I bring those passions into my instructional design. Learning and development excites me when I find the solution to the business problem and I communicate that solution in a way that is visually compelling and easily understood. Designing and developing effective adult learning is part skill and part craft. I think the best experiences happen when the instructional designer has a strong knowledge base in adult learning theory and a creative talent.

Prior to coming to the instructional design field, I have worked at a nonprofit, organizing and leading adult trainings and workshops, I founded an early childhood center, and I was a small business owner. In all of these positions, I utilized project management skills: organization, leadership, communication, and problem solving. These were all great experiences, and they all hit some of my passions, but it's instructional design where I am at my best.
My Personal Life
I love any creative expression. In my free time, you might find me knitting, reading, painting, creating pottery, baking, or even building furniture! I love to spend time with my family and our chocolate lab, Moose. If we aren't at home, we most likely will be found on Cape Cod, exploring the National Seashore, hiking some trails, visiting local artists' shops, or relaxing at one of our favorite beaches.
